Jalan Raya Akong in Kabupaten Tangerang is one of the congestion points that is often complained about by motorists. This congestion is caused by several main factors, including the heavy flow of traffic, the deteriorating condition of the road, and illegal parking that disrupts the smooth flow of vehicles.
One of the causes of severe congestion in this area is the convergence of several congested roads, such as the one at Simpang Empat Pasarkemis not far from Akong. Road damage makes it impossible for vehicles to travel at normal speeds, resulting in a build-up of vehicles. In addition, illegal parking activities around the Balaraja toll gate also exacerbated the congestion by blocking the flow of heavy and private vehicles.
Congestion on Jalan Raya Akong and its surroundings not only disrupts the comfort of motorists, but also has an impact on travel time which becomes longer. Many motorists complained about the length of their journey due to the queue of vehicles that snaked for several kilometres.
The Tangerang District Government, through the Bina Marga and Water Resources Agency (DBMSDA) and the Transportation Agency, has planned various road repair and traffic management efforts to resolve this congestion. Road repairs on several damaged sections are planned to be carried out immediately, including on the section adjacent to Jalan Raya Akong. In addition, illegal parking will also be curbed to open up space for the smooth flow of traffic.
The public is encouraged to use alternative routes when crossing Jalan Raya Akong and its surroundings during the repair process, and continue to obey traffic rules for mutual safety.
With joint efforts from the government and public awareness, it is hoped that congestion on Jalan Raya Akong, Tangerang Regency, can be reduced and provide comfort for all road users.
