Internship Experience at SMP Negeri 17 Tangerang in January

In January, I got a very valuable opportunity to carry out an internship at SMP Negeri 17 Tangerang. This internship is part of my educational programme which aims to provide direct experience in the world of basic education and deepen my understanding of the teaching and learning process in schools.

During my one-month internship, I learnt a lot about various aspects of the primary school environment. At the beginning of my internship, I was introduced to various activities and routines in the school. I had the opportunity to get to know the teachers, administrative staff, and students at SMP Negeri 17 Tangerang. The school's friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere made me feel comfortable and motivated to give my best during my internship.

One of the main activities I did was to assist the teacher in the learning process in the classroom. I accompanied the teacher while teaching, helped prepare teaching materials, and provided additional guidance to students who needed it. From this, I learnt how to deliver the subject matter with interesting methods that are easily understood by the children. I also learnt to be more patient and creative in dealing with different student characters.

In addition, I was also involved in school administration activities, such as helping with filing documents, recording student attendance, and preparing activity reports. This gave me an idea of how school management runs systematically and organised. I realised that in addition to teaching skills, an educator must also have good administrative skills so that the teaching and learning process can run smoothly.

my internship, I also participated in several extracurricular activities and school events, such as poetry reading competitions and art activities organised by the school. These activities not only strengthened my relationship with students, but also taught me the importance of developing students' talents and interests outside of formal lessons.

The experience of interacting directly with students became my most memorable moment. I saw how children have a high spirit of learning despite the various challenges they face. I learnt a lot about the importance of motivation and support from teachers to help students achieve their best potential.

The internship at SMP Negeri 17 Tangerang also gave me an insight into the importance of teamwork in a school environment. Teachers and school staff support each other and work well together to create a conducive and enjoyable learning atmosphere. I learnt that the success of education does not only depend on individuals, but also on the synergy of all elements of the school.

Overall, this internship experience has been very beneficial for my self-development, both professionally and personally. I feel more prepared and confident to step into the real world of education. I also have a better understanding of the challenges and responsibilities that must be carried out by an educator.

I am very grateful to SMP Negeri 17 Tangerang for providing opportunities and guidance during my internship. Hopefully this experience will be a strong provision for me to continue learning, developing, and contributing positively to the world of education in the future.
